RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das tests positive for Covid-19


Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has tested positive for Covid-19, he announced on Twitter late on Sunday.

“I have tested COVID-19 positive. Asymptomatic. Feeling very much alright,” Das said on the social media platform. He said he had alerted those who came in contact with him in the last few days, and will continue to work from isolation.

Work in RBI will go on normally. I am in touch with all Dy. Govs and other officers through VC and telephone,” he added.

On Saturday, the leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Devendra Fadnavis said he had tested positive for Covid-19 virus.

The financial capital Mumbai has been one of the worst hit in terms of the number of coronavirus infections. On Saturday, Mumbai reported 1,257 new Covid-19 cases, taking the city’s total tally t0 2,50,061 confirmed cases ..
